Ihitte Mbieri Autonomous Community Holds August Meeting in Style
The women of Ihitte Mbieri Autonomous Community in Mbaitoli Local Government Area yesterday held its home and abroad August meeting, during which they invited prominent son’s and Daughters of Ihitte Mbieri and a renowned Newspaper Man, Ezinwa Emeka Ahaneku.
This is even as the President, Mrs. Victoria Ogu gave reasons why the Ihitte Women Congress August meeting could not hold last year.
She said it was due to the effects of Covid 19, noting that the women were advised against being in a crowded environment.
In an address read by the President General, Ihitte women Congress, Mrs Victory Ogu, the women thanked God for making the 2021 August meeting posible in spite of all odds and many stumbling blocks.
According to her, “We thank God for Making this years gathering possible in spite of all odds, there were many stumbling blocks, but in all, we have conquered. The Bible made it clear that. Many are the afflictions of the righteous but the lord has already dilivered us from them all.
“our basic challenge is finance. We are pleading for financial assistance to enable us forge ahead. We meed to complete our Hall and we also need to contribute our quota to the building of the ongoing market project, among others.
” We started with nothing, we did not inherit anything from the former Executives, not even a pen or an exercise book, not even to talk of cash. We went into borrowing from the villages to be able to provide the little kola before us today”, she said.
Ezinwa Emeka Ahaneku in his speech explained that a virtuous woman is “priceless and her price is far above monetary and material value.”
He stated that a helpful wife is a jewel to her husband, but “a shameless wife will make his bones rot. A truly good wife is the most precious treasure a man can find. Her husband depends on her and she never lets him down.”
According to him, “a virtuous woman does good to her husband and to other persons all the days of her life and averts evil against her family. A virtuous woman must be enterprising, trusted and God fearing”.
