A former Chief Press Secretary, Imo state House of Assembly and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC, in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state, Hon. Emeka Ahaneku has condemned the spate of media attacks, insults, name calling and blackmail against major political leaders of Mbaitoli local Government area, Imo Breaking News reports
In a chat with select journalists in Owerri, on Thursday, Ahaneku condemned the spate of media attack orchestrated and sponsored by divisive elements, against major Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress in Mbaitoli local government.
With particular reference to attacks on the Mbaitoli IMC Boss, Hon, John Eke and Hon.Barr Kingsley Ononuju. Emeka Ahaneku expressed sadness and called on all in political interest groups to embrace peace for the Unity and Development of APC in the area.
“I condemn the pattern of heaping unfounded allegations on our leaders. In the same vein, i extremely frown at the new invention of blackmailing innocent citizens for pitical vendetta.
“Alleging all sorts of things against leaders who are sacrificing so much to make our Local government better is evil and atrocious.
“These are atrocities that should be condemned by every patriotic well-meaning Mbaitoli person,” Ahaneku said.
Ahaneku stressed that the menaces of fake news and attack on APC leaders in the area were gradually turning Mbaitoli local government to a war zone.
“We cannot afford to watch our dear Mbaitoli, traditionally known for peace and tranquility, turned to a crisis-ridden zone.
“i, therefore, call on all media aides, all patriotic Mbaitoli personalities and all well-meaning APC Chieftains in Mbaitoli to join hands with the APC leadership and the IMC Chairman to find lasting solutions to whatever challenge the APC is having at this time”,
